I just recently got the version 18.55 distribution from prep.ai.mit.edu and built it on an HP9000/350 running HP-UX 6.5. Everything SEEMED to work. I started up the tutorial and everything went as expected until I tried SAVING. Upon saving the file, emacs hung--it really froze. The only way I could break out of it was to kill my connection and log in again. I repeated this several times on files other than the tutorial. The files never really got saved, they just disappeared. Does anyone have emacs running on this type of machine? Please respond TO THE EMAIL ADDRESS BELOW if you have any tips for me. I have very limited net access at the moment.
