how much damage they can take, what their weapon is, and what (if any) special

flame me, OK?

As far as I can tell these guys do not regenerate. If they do, it is much
slower than I do. My usual style of fighting them is to hit a few times and
then backup to regenerate my own hit points, and then hit some more. The
monsters take a fairly consistent number of hits - depending on strength,
weapon, dexterity, experience - regardless of amount of backing up. If we
regenerate at the same speed this would not be true. ROG-O-MATIC, a reliable
guru, uses this strategy, so I expect that statistics would back me up.

This article is in no way intended as a flame, but, is strictly for the
purpose of upsetting the people who never read spoilers but accidentally
read this one.

P.S. There seems to much less traffic in this group lately. Is this due to
the proliferation of Hack (a marvelous game, I love it, I love it, I love
it...).

They regenerate, much slower than you do.
