Peptide Synthesizer Users
The Center for Gene Research and Biotechnology at Oregon State
University will be purchasing a peptide synthesizer within the next
two months. We are looking at the Applied Biosystems Model 431A single
reaction vessel system and the MilliGen Model 9050 three reaction vessel
system. So far, we've only talked with the sales representatives of
each company. As expected each claim their instrument is far superior
to the other's.
To make an informed decision, we very much need some input from
the users of these instruments. If you have some experience with
either machine we would greatly appreciate your input .
Please tell us:
1) the instrument you are familiar with
2) its ease of set-up and operation
3) the average yield and cost of each coupling
4) the time required to maintain the instrument
5) the most common problem you've encountered
with the instrument.
