I am having problems. I have gone throught the installation procedure a number of time now. I have gcc 1.34.0 up and running. When I follow the installation instructions for g++ for sunos4.0 I get "undefined symbol: start" whenever I compile. ld++ is getting called with "-e start". If I remove that option and run the phases by hand I get a working executable for SOME of the test sources but not all. If I build g++ as if I was running sunos3.x I again get working binaries for SOME of the tests. At this point I think there must be something I don't know or that I am doing wrong. When I build for sunos4.0 and compile with "-v" I can see that crt0+.o is being found where I installed it. 1) if anyone has g++ 1.34.0 up and running on a configuration like mine can you please tell me if you did anything special. 2) if I want to build a g++ that will run on a variety of suns which may or may not have a 68881/fpa should I build a g++ as if I know that the machine doesn't have any FP? 3) is now a good time for little gripes about the installation instructions or is the distribution not settled enough for that? (ex: there is no config.g++ although it is referenced) Thanks for your time. I am receiving the gnu groups but am not receiving this mailing list. I would like for all responses to this to be mailed to me to be sure I get them. Thanks again. -- patrick pml@usl.usl.edu ..!uunet!dalsqnt!usl!pml
