[gnu.g++] Overloading ->

Does g++ allow you to overload the member selection operation (->)?
I am using 1.35.1.  It doesn't complain when I declare the overload
in the class but it barfs as soon as it sees the open brace on the
implementation.  I cannot, for instance, get the examples from
Lippman, p. 270 to compile.  Any help?
