Just out of curiosity, has anyone written a machine description et al to allow gcc to be a cross compiler of sorts for programs intended to run on the IBM PC? I need such a thing and will write one myself, but as usual, if it's been done before, I'd rather not do it again, given that I'm not sure how well gcc is set up to deal with a segmented architecture, if at all (and my only moderate reserve of knowledge regarding compilers). Thanks for any pointers... a
