Hi folks,
I'm trying to bring up several things GNUish on our microvax III. Well,
I got the code from a DECUS tape (VAX88A1) and am trying to get the c
compiler working (since we only have FORTRAN at this point). Anyway,
I've got all the files here, including GCC.EXE and other stuff. I've
done @GCC_INSTALL (or whatever) and it works fine. I don't have (or can't
find) any instructions on how this should be done, but I then define
CC :== $DUA1:[JGH1.GNU.GNUCC]GCC.EXE
and try the command
CC somedumbprogram.c
Which gives the following error:
%CLI-F-SYNTAX, error parsing 'VCG$INPUT'
-CLI-E-ENTNF, specified entity not found in command tables
%TRACE-F-TRACEBACK, symbolic stack dump follows
module name routine name line rel PC abs PC
7FF9470F 7FF9470F
7FF94515 7FF94515
7FF941D6 7FF941D6
000071AC 000071AC
GCC lib_do_command 00000084 00001C7E
GCC main 00000038 000018F0
I'm not sure what to do with this. Looking at GCC.C it looks like VCG$INPUT
as well as some other similar names are supposed to be VMS logical names,
but I don't know which name table to put them in, nor what to define them
as.
Does anyone know?
(BTW, it's version 1.22 - I Probably should get a new version, but we
don't have a tape drive on that computer so transferring all those files
is a MAJOR pain in the A**)
Please mail your answers.
Thanks,
John Hardie
