Also, rogue produces the "strange sense of loss" message under the following circumstances: 1) If the scroll is Enchant Weapon or Enchant Armor and you are not wielding something or not wearing armor. 2) If it's Protect Armor and you aren't wearing armor. 3) If it's Hold Monster and there are no monsters adjacent to you.
