Sombody asked about gcc on a DECstation 3100 recently, and my reply failed, so here are my experiences: 1.35 does not run out of the box, even after defining DECSTATION in tm-mips.h. There is an incompatablity in tm-mips.h (which was intended for 1.32, according to the comments). Moreover, there is at least one bug in the PRINT_OPERAND macro. Interested parties contact me. Even after fixing this the compiler isn't correct. It compiles various things like drystone, but refuses to recompile itself. There seem to be problems with 'printf' calls returning to wierd locations, sometimes. I haven't got anymore time to put into it, but I can elaborate on my experiences to anyone else willing to give it a try.... (Oh yes, this is, of course, an implicit request for a working gcc for the DECstation as well......) -- -- Een volk dat voor tirannen zwicht | Oral: Jack Jansen zal meer dan lijf en goed verliezen | Internet: jack@cwi.nl dan dooft het licht | Uucp: mcvax!jack
