Dear Friends, Can you believe it? Somebody has actually questioned the usefulness of some of *my* code! I am floored! :-) Anyway, all seriousness aside, if any of you folks out there decide to use my PROTOIZE program, and if you find it useful, and if you think that FSF should distribute it with future versions of GCC, please send a message to that effect to: rms@wheaties.ai.mit.edu If enough people *do* find this tool useful enough to send in messages, then it *may* be distributed with GCC at some point in the future. This will make it slightly simpler to install. Also, if FSF doesn't decide to distribute it (due to lack of interest) I will see it as pointless to spend any of my time on maintaining it. The forgoing was a Free (semi-)political announcement. // Ron Guilmette - MCC - Experimental Systems Kit Project // 3500 West Balcones Center Drive, Austin, TX 78759 - (512)338-3740 // ARPA: rfg@mcc.com // UUCP: {rutgers,uunet,gatech,ames,pyramid}!cs.utexas.edu!pp!rfg

Does proroize leave the old function declarations in the source, say, under "#ifndef __STDC__"? I have made several nontrivial systems ANSI-compiler-digestable just over this past month, but none of them were programs that I would want to break under pre-ANSI compilers. -- Jacob Gore Jacob@Gore.Com {oddjob, chinet, att}!nucsrl!gore!jacob
