Once again, someone (me) wants to know the status of ports of gcc for the IBM RT/PC. Let me ask the question with a slightly different twist: my understanding is that the difficulty in doing this is caused by the fact that the RT's somewhat wierd RISC architecture causes the RTL used as an intermediate representation to be insufficiently expressive to allow all desired optimizations. If I were relatively uninterested in performance -- all I want is correctness, and debuggability with gdb, would this change things? I'm sufficiently disenchanted with the compilation system I'm currently using to be willing to devote a fair amount of effort to this, if people are looking for volunteers. Thanks.
