After spending a rather long time downloading gcc-1.35, I discovered (to my chagrin) that gcc 1.35 "will not compile" on my 3b1 "due to bugs in the Unix compiler." It is promised that if I get something earlier than 1.35 up and going, I can compile it. Any pointers to an ftp-reachable site that will have a version < 1.35 (preferably 1.34, with 1.35 diffs :-) Thx. -- J. You can ftp 1.35 3B1 binaries from linc.cis.upenn.edu. GCC hasn't been bootstrappable on the 3B1 with the stock cc since around 1.28; you need to use gcc 1.x to boostrap 1.(x+1). BTW, building gcc is no mean feat on a 3B1; about 8 hours for a full double bootstrap. -- Arnold Robbins -- Emory University Computing Center | Unix is a Registered DOMAIN: arnold@unix.cc.emory.edu | Bell of AT&T Trademark UUCP: gatech!emoryu1!arnold PHONE: +1 404 727-7636 | Laboratories.
