[gnu.gcc] GNU CC for 88K

aglew@urbana.mcd.mot.com (Andy-Krazy-Glew) (08/24/89)

Has anyone got GNU CC for the 88K?

Preferably a Motorola 88K system, but anyone else's would be a good start.

(My 68K version of GNU CC is likely a bit old - sorry if the 88K stuff
is already in the latest distribution (which I have to pick up)).

I suppose that I'll have to do a GNU CC 68K -> 88K cross-compile,
since only GNU CC can compile GNU CC ;-}

1.35 (the current version) includes just such a configuration option.

We at Data General have been enhancing GCC for the 88100, and are
feeding the changes back to the FSF. At the moment, about half of the
changes are accepted, and I'm about to do diffs against the alpha
versions of 1.36 to see exactly where we stand. I suspect that all of
the changes will not be in when 1.36 ships.
