GCC 1.36 was able to correctly build and run the object file comparison after the stage2 make on our Intel 386 System V.3.2 port yesterday for the first time (1.35 would fail the object file comparison). Sorry for clogging up info-gcc with this garbage but 1.36 looks pretty good and is the first version of GCC that I can get any of my co-workers to evaluate because it is the first version that will successfully build and run on our i386 SYSV system.
