Dear Experts, I'm interested in installing GNU C on our VAX/VMS 5.0 system, but I'm a bit confused by the versions extant. There is a gcc-vms.tar on prep.ai.mit.edu which seems in content to be similar to Jonathan Corbet's bootstrap.bck, and then there are Jonathan's gcc-n.bck files. What do I loose if I only install bootstrap.bck or gcc-vms.tar (are they the same thing)? If I choose to compile gcc-n.bck, is the installation relatively painless? I'm sorry to bother you with what is undoubtedly a trivial question. I do not subscribe to this list, so could you please send responses to me directly. M.
