Some days ago I accidentally posted a beta copy of Freemacs, version
1.5 BETA 0030, thinking that it was PC-Hypertext. I cancelled it a
few hours later, but who knows how many people got it. Anyway, if you
did get a copy of it, feel free to use it. However, when I post the
real release (Real Soon Now), please pick that up and use it instead.

Apologies for any confusion.

PC-Hypertext worked fine for me (the reposting, that is).

It's not a bad package. In a sense, it's an advertisement, but a good one.
What you get free is the Hypertext *reading* tools, and a sample network.
The creation tools cost. It's possible to create simple networks without
the extras, but the real intent appears to be to get you to buy the creation
tools. However, the sample network is a fascinating discussion of hypertext
itself: what is is, how they've implemented it, and what kinds of impact it
might have over the next few years. A good couple of hours reading and
playing; worthwhile if you can get an intact copy, but don't go out of your
way.
