[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] Burndev vs. Excel/Windows

josephs@ttidca.TTI.COM (Bill Josephs) (08/17/88)

The latest (2.3) burndev with the H+ switch doesn't seem to work prop-
erly with Excel/Windows. My guess is that Excel grabs the keyboard so
effectively that burndev doesn't see input -- blanks the screen and
doesn't restore it until you leave Excel and restore interrupt
pointers for burndev... I don't know if the previous version (2.1)
did the same since I didn't use H+ ...

I don't think the problem is with Excel. Windows grabs the keyboard interrupt
and prevents the blanker from seeing keyboard input. I had the same problem
with a screen blanker from Video7's VegaDeluxe board. I had to tunr blanking
off in a small batch file before bringing up Windows, then turn blanking on
when I left.
