I got the ARC522.EXE file from PD1:<MSDOS.ARC-LBR> on Simtel20 and when I attempted to execute to to self extract I was told that the program is too big to fit in memory. It is about 97K, so that really shouldn't be the problem. I did transfer it properly with binary mode, etc...; has anyone else had this problem? The machine I tried to run it on is a compaq deskpro 386/20 running compaq DOS 3.1. I had a similar problem 'til I read the info files on simtel20. When downloading binaries to a UNIX machine, you must use the 'tenex' mode for transfer. Also, don't forget to do a binary transfer to the PC. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Andrew Patrick, Ph.D. Communications Research Center, Ottawa, CANADA SmartMail: patrick@crcmar.uucp UUCP: ...utzoo!bnr-vpa!bnr-rsc!crcmar!patrick BITNET: patrick%crcmar@UTORGPU ARPA: dgbt@ncs-dre.arpa "Might as well be frank, monsieur.
