[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] Simtel20 ARC522.EXE

jl42+@andrew.cmu.edu (Jay Mathew Libove) (09/02/88)

I got the ARC522.EXE file from PD1:<MSDOS.ARC-LBR> on Simtel20 and
when I attempted to execute to to self extract I was told that the
program is too big to fit in memory. It is about 97K, so that really
shouldn't be the problem. I did transfer it properly with binary
mode, etc...; has anyone else had this problem?
The machine I tried to run it on is a compaq deskpro 386/20 running
compaq DOS 3.1.

I had a similar problem 'til I read the info files on simtel20. When
downloading binaries to a UNIX machine, you must use the 'tenex' mode
for transfer. Also, don't forget to do a binary transfer to the PC.
