A while back a program for a bulletin board was posted and sent through the net. I have been experimenting with it and am having quite a few difficulties with it that aren't in the trouble-shooting section. First...has anyone gotten this up and running? I got it up no problem and made the adjustments that were specified. Second...has anyone had any success with anyone calling in and trying to use the board? That is where my problems lay! I experimented with another close-by terminal and saw on the sender's end alot of frozen screens. When I unjammed them each time (the initial questions that were asked) the BBS seemed to fluxuate between only accepting either capitol letters or small and I couldn't tell which were wanted! It was very inconsistant. Then I looked at the receiving end's screen...about half of the answered questions showed ascii graphic characters instead of readable text! "Chat" did all ascii graphic in the receiver's end and looked okay in the sender's end. I tried to get another person with a very compatible machine to mine - he went in in PCPlus host mode and had no problems, but in this BBS he just got the garbage that was unreadable! He finally had to log off. (actually be killed) Third...How do you initially get files into the bbs so that people can upload and download them? I don't see any section that tells you how to do this! I copied the files into the specified directories and then had a problem with the filenames being listed within the BBS! I vi'd into the files.bbs files and tried to place the names in myself and when that didn't work I tried the list-all-files-in -the-directories method..... that made a nice listing of the directories but no files... There must be an easier way to do this!!!??? I couldn't upload from the sysop position.. kept getting bumped out! If someone has gotten this up and running successfully and had people successfully in and out of it I would like to compare notes! I am running a Tandy 3000HL with all the newest etc.... and a 2400 Smart One internal modem using com 2. (if that helps) Thanks! ` . . . ,- /| \ | / /*(| ` .\|/.
