[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] Please humor me. . .

greenber@eniac.seas.upenn.edu (Brian Greenberg) (12/15/88)

Someone please humor me, while I display my ignorance.

How do I download the files in comp.binaries.ibm.pc and then put them
into an executable form? I'm new at this, and I don't want to waste
my time downloading if I can't run the programs!

Well, you don't have to download them -- they are already on the machine
that you are reading the news on! Just use the "w" command to write
each to a file that ends with .uue. Then, xfr the file to your DOS box,
and unencode it. You don't have "uudecode"? Check you local unix
machine; the source code is probably there. Oh, next you'll need one of
the MSDOS archiver programs.
