As a new reader of this group and comp.binaries.ibm.pc, I would like to suggest that instructions be posted somewhere as to what the difference between this group and the "non-.d" group is and the process for posting a response. I recently posted a binary file to this discussion group (in ignorance). Several people responded informing me that I had posted to the wrong notes group and that I should not do what I did. Well I appreciate the information. I certainly don't want to cause trouble for anyone and I understand the need to keep things seperate. However, most of the responses I received didn't seem to consider the fact that maybe I was new to this and didn't realize what I was doing. You have to admit, that to a new notes reader, the difference of a small ".d" suffix is pretty subtle. It's not like I intentionally posted a binary to a discussion group. Anyways, I'm not posting this note to "flame" anyone, but rather to help other new readers to avoid my mistake in the future. I notice that some notes groups include an entry titled something like "HOW TO POST TO THIS GROUP". Perhaps that would be helpful here. Again, my apologies to the folks who maintain this notes group. I did attempt to send private replies to those that sent me mail, but was unable to supply an address that satisfied the local mail system. You see I'm still trying to figure that out too.
