There has been a lot of discussion on getting files from SIMTEL and a write-up on how this works. I was wondering what has to be in place so that a remote FTP will work? Whenever I specify an FTP address that is not in our local network(s), the connection is not made. I assume FTP has to know something about dialing out, but don't know how to set that up. Thanks for any help you can give.

Not all FTP's know how to handle an address like SIMTEL20.army.mil and must be
given the specific address to connect to. Try "ftp 26.0.0.74" and see if that
works.
