[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] Enzyme kinetics software available

jes@mbio.med.upenn.edu (Joe Smith) (02/28/89)

By permission of the author, I am making the EZ-FIT enzyme kinetics
package available via anonymous ftp. For a complete description of
the package, see F. W. Perrella, "EZ-FIT: A Practical Curve-Fitting
Microcomputer Program for the Analysis of Enzyme Kinetic Data on
IBM-PC Compatible Computers", Anal. Biochem., 174:437-447, 1989.

The program fits experimental data to a user-selected model, chosen
from a wide array of kinetic models and presents the fitted data in
both tabular and graph form.

The program is a binary executable (compiled Quick-BASIC) for IBM-PCs
and compatibles with at least 384K of RAM and a CGA graphics adapter.
The files are compressed in an ARC archive.

To retrieve the file, establish an anonymous ftp connection to
mbio.med.upenn.edu [128.91.18.14]: user "ftp", password "userid", cd
to "pub", set the appropriate BINARY transfer mode, and get the file
"ez-fit.arc". The size is 177663 bytes. Once you have the file it
must be transferred to a PC by some binary-competent file-transfer
such as kermit or XMODEM and unpacked by the ARC utility.

As I am not the author of the package, I will not answer requests for
information or assistance regarding EZ-FIT. All such requests should
be directed to Dr. Perrella, at the address given in the above paper.
If you have comments, however, post them to this group, or send them
to me via e-mail, and I will forward the to Dr. Perrella by mail. I
would urge you to make your comments comments known, as Dr. Perrella is
very interested in improving the package and keeping it available to
the public. Feel free to share EZ-FIT with your colleagues.
