I have tried CHKSUM on 3 different XTs now, two clones and one authentic IBM PC, yet I have not seen it work right even once yet. All it does is hang the system and force me to cold boot, or sometimes it causes the machine to reboot itself! I would really like this program if it would work, but I can't tell if it's something I am doing wrong, or if it just won't work on the machines I've tried it on so far. Also, this, and a number of other programs that were posted about the same time, came with no documentation at all. Not even a README file. This makes troubleshooting near impossible. (Is it hardware requirements? Syntax errors? Etc.?)
