Hello everybody out there... I have got a little problem here. I've got an old PC with two diskettestations and I want to install an harddisk to that machine. The harddisk is an 10 MB Miniscribe modell 2012 and the diskcontroller is an IBM 1501492. When I install the harddisk and I try to boot the machine It does not find the harddisk. I then boot from a diskett. Running norton SI i say's that it finds an extended ROM-BIOS att C800 and that is supposed to be normal, but SI also says that available diskdrives are A and B. (And not C as I would like it to). I've heard that some old processors do not support harddisk's operations. Is that true? The main processor is a NEC D8088D (8333k9) and it's from 83-84 I think. Some additionals processors wich I see are: NEC D8237AC-5 NEC D8255AC-2 ~~ INS8250AN (+B8524) (I dont know if it does matter but I write them anyway). The only name of the motherboard I found was some sqroot'looking sign like: V 2-94-VO 1184 (problably month-year) Please help me anyone, nobody can be pleased with a PC without an harddisk. Actually the described machine is my second one. The one I have now is newer. It's an 286 16 Mhz with 20 MB but that isn't enough... I'm an Icelandic student studying Systematics in Gothenbourg, SWEDEN. We don't have any hardware studies there either which I think is a pity but but. Og allir thid heima ef thid vitid eitthvad um ATLANTIS PC thar sem baett hefur verid vid h|rdumdisk, endilega latidi vita.
