First off, thanks to those who told me what the problem was with PAK. I thanked you by Email, but got enough error messages so I doubt the mail got through. POST MORTEM: The problem was in the first posted file. The last line of uuencoded data got split into two shorter lines by a spurious newline. Joining the lines and repeating the other steps (uudecode, download, and run the unPAKing .exe file) gave me a program that works. I used it on a file that was sent me, and was unimpressed (though the file was quite small).
