March 29, 1989 Re: Newer version of gawk - Yes, I'm still looking for it! Scott, The arpa postmaster returned this mail as undeliverable saying the user was unknown. Didn't know how else to get this to your attention. I received mail from Conrad Kwok on the 25th saying that the file had been renamed to gawk202f which I presume is the newer version you allude to in your mail. I don't know if its my machine or the procedure I am using, but I have been unable to establish an ftp to the machine Conrad refers to in his posting. (I've got the 'for beginners' articles from the net but they are all I have describing how to anonymous ftp or uucp.) I saw your posting from a few weeks back but as I don't have anything other than an older version executable the diffs don't help much. If its not too much trouble, could you send me the latest of whatever constitutes a complete distribution for gawk? Hopefully, then I will be able to keep up with any changes that appear on the net. Thanks for your help. Dave Beyerl att!ihlpl!db21

I'm posting this in case anybody else has been unseccessfully trying to send mail. Due to some problem (apparently) in our mailer my return address in net mail sometimes appears as seg@uunet.uu.net or something equally bogus. My correct address is one of: seg@smsdpg.uu.net or smsdpg!seg@uunet.uu.net or uunet!smsdpg!seg My apologies to people who read this and couldn't care less. Scott E.
