The show is (ta-da) "Demon with a Glass Hand" by Harlan (yay! boo!) Ellison. It appeared in 1964 on \Outer Limits/, probably the best episode of the series. It won the Writers Guild of America award for most outstanding script, as did his "The City on the Edge of Forever" (1968), for \Star Trek/. In "Demon with a Glass Hand", an android, being pursued by aliens, has the entire human race coded in his artificial hand. Ellison wrote one other episode for \Outer Limits/, "Soldier", about an ultra-conditioned soldier from the future who is projected back in time and finds himself in a typical 1960s American household.
