Thanks to all who responded to my original inquiry regarding a UN*X-compatible Lex for PClones. After reviewing what's available, I decided that getting hold of a PC copy of Flex ('free lex' or 'fast lex', I'm not sure which) for the PC. (No offense to MKS, but I'm just not in that kind of financial league! :-) ) Having FTP'd a copy of the Flex source from uunet.uu.net, I tried applying the suggested fixes to Flex before compiling it (with Turbo C 1.5), but the program crashed and burned horribly, and not having a lot of time to spare, I'm just not in the mood to diddle around with it now. So my question is: Has anyone already performed this task AND made the results (i.e. an executable program) available somewhere, on anonymous FTP? It would sure save some time (as the class I need it for ends in a couple of weeks). For that matter, has anyone done the same for other GNU offerings (e.g., GCC, G++, Bison, etc...)? I've seen a copy of GAWK floating around a local BBS, but nothing else.... Please reply via E-mail, or post if you think it's worth everyone seeing it. Or, if some generous soul who HAS done this would like to uuencode an archive of it and mail it here, I'd be most delighted. Thanks! ///////// Disclaimer: Uh, well, Huttenback didn't need one... \\\\\\\\ ////// * Eric J.
