Is anyone familiar with software which will allow normal "tar" format tapes (DC600 type), to be written by the various brands of PC tape backup units? I'm familiar with several "tar" programs for the PC, but all need some sort of "driver" to actually communicate with the tape interface (not supplied by the backup device vendors). My application is to transfer data via tape from PC's to various types of UN*X workstations which have a compatible physical data format on the tape.
