Gerald (not Jerry) Mc Boing Boing didn't turn into things, he imitated their sounds with startling realism. I had a book about him when I was a little kid (early fifties.) I believe it was a while before they made the TV show but I may be wrong. In the book he was considered a pest because of his talents and got thrown out of his house by his parents. Of course, he managed to regain their good graces by some act of heroism, which I don't remember. I only remember the picture of poor Gerald skulking out the front door with his father sternly pointing the way. Heavy stuff. Lew Mammel, Jr. ihuxr!lew
