[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] Missing pieces are becoming common

djm408@tijc02.UUCP (David Marks ) (07/21/89)

After several large postings many netters seemed to have missed the same
part of each of several postings: nethack part 4, omega support files part 1,
space flight simulator part 5. The large number of netters that missed these
leads me to believe that there is a problem somewhere in the system. Could
you Rahul, or anyone else knowledgeable enough check this out?

In the meantime, could these particular missing pieces be reposted? I realize
that we don't always want to repost every item that was missed by somebody.
However, these in particular seemed to have been missed by many.

Funny, I have just sent mail to the administrator of our server about
this very thing. Maby Rahul can shead more light on it. Here what I
sent.

Because I was on vacation, I had to save a large number of postings
from comp.binaries.ibm.pc in the last few days. Of the things that
I saved, four were reposts. They are; v04i017, v04i024, v04i030,
and v04i042. There are also two files missing. They are: v04i048
and v04i060. The moderator posts at specific times according to the
"Date:" field in the header of the postings. It usually starts at
00:00 and then continues every 2 hours until it's done. After I
had saved all of the files on my home system, I used the "Date"
field to "touch" each of the files. That is when I noticed that
ALL of the reposts and the two missing files should have a "Date"
field of "08:00:00 GMT" I spoke with Doug Price and he suggested
that I send mail to you. So... could you please look into this?
Is it possible that other groups are effected?
