If anyone is using the lpr/lpq utilities posted recently, you might be interested in a new version of lpq that displays the percentage of the file currently printed, e.g. ( 1) c:\tmp\prog\prog.doc (39281 bytes) printing (20%) I didn't post this version because I wasn't sure how robust my snooping in the system file table was. I have since tested it on 3.1, 3.3 and 4.01 and it seems to work. I find it very useful when printing long documents. Of course it only tells you what percentage has been read from disc, not how much has actually hit the paper, so isn't much use if you use a large printer buffer. Send me email if you would like this. Richard Brittain, School of Elect.
