Okay, thinking back to my (relatively) distant youth, I have made a list of the various kryptonites (Superman's bane) and their effects. Green Slow, agonizing death Red Weird, unpredictable effects Gold Permanent loss of powers White ?? Blue ?? Does anyone out there remember what white and blue kryptonites do? Also, have I missed any other colors of the foul element?

Thanks to all who replied to my kryptonite inquiry. The unanimous response is that white kryptonite kills plants and blue is the Bizarro version of green. One respondent thought that there was also a crystal kryptonite, but it was a synthetic manufactured by Lex Luthor. Once again, thanks to you all.

OKAY, OKAY, *ENOUGH*!!! Thanks to all who responded to my question on kryptonite taxonomy. There's no need to deluge me with more mail. The final consensus: green kills Kryptonians (when they're not under a red sun) red weird, unpredictable effects gold permanent loss of super powers white kills plants (Kryptonian and non-Kryptonian) blue no effect on Kryptonians, but was the Bizarro equivalent of green; one respondent thought that Superman himself had synthesized blue kryptonite jewel a fake kryptonite manufactured by Lex Luthor; a hoax: no effect at all. Once again, thanks to all who took the time to send mail; you can stop now. John

White Kryptonite kills plants Blue kills Bizarros (send some to the White House soon) There was also in one issue, Rainbow Kryptonite (??), and one with Crystal Kryptonite (??). No idea what effects either caused. Of course that was when Kryptonite was availabe at Baskin Robbins in 32 flavors...
