[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] compress and backup

ghodsi@shire.cs.psu.edu (M. Ghodsi) (08/17/89)

Hi Folks!

Is there a utility that can compress all files in a directory,
including those in its subdirectories, and store the archive on several
disketts, like 'backup'? I know that 'lharc' compresses the
subdirectories too, but one must always worry about the size of the
archive to fit one diskett.

thanks,

Phil Katz' PKZIP/PKUNZIP compression utility allows you to automatically
store the subdirectory paths and files and can automatically create them
upon un-compression....

It's great!

ZOOX, an enhancement of Rahul Dhesi's ZOO program, was recently
posted in comp.binaries.ibm.pc. Zoo already supports directory
trees; ZOOX adds multivolume support.
