Can somebody help me with this one? It is a tv program that aired about 7-8 years ago. I think it aired on Saturday evenings. It was a sitcom and one of the characters was a (string) bass player for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. I seem to remember him running up the steps of Symphony Hall at the beginning of each program. Did this program involve a (female) roommate? I think one of the words in the title was friends or buddies or something to that effect. Ira Idelson American Bell Holmdel

The program mentioned by Ira Idelson about the Boston Symphony string player was called "Paul Sand Friends and Lovers". I don't remember anything else about it. Tom Skrobala

Sorry for violating the net.games.trivia rules about replying, but we have a hell of a time getting through the harpo node. This is a S P O I L E R S P O I L E R The show was Paul Sands, Friends and Lovers. Paul Sands made his big breakthrough on the Mary Tyler Moore show and then got a 1/2 hr. sitcom of his own. I really enjoyed it, but it was ahead of its time and probably too good for American Network TV. Ohh well. By the way, I recollect he was a Cello player and had many interesting run-ins on the subway, etc. --- Stephen Perelgut ---

I think that the show about a string bass player was "Paul Sands' Friends and Lovers". Paul Sands played a perpetual loser. -- barmar MIT
