If you want to be a nit-picker (and what else is trivia for?), Peter Cook and Dudley Moore are NOT "Beyond the Fringe". BTF consisted of Cook and Moore, Jonathan Miller (now director of the National Opera in Britain) and Alan Bennett, both of whom appeared with Cook in the first Secret Policeman's Ball film. They originally did the show at the Fringe Festival held concurrently with the Edinburgh Festival in the early 60s, then took it to the West End and later Broadway. Cook and Moore Continued to perform together, doing (among other things) parts in the films Those Daring Young Men in their Jaunty Jalopies and The Bed-Sitting Room, various radio shows (some under the name "Pete 'n' Dud") and at least one extremely controversial record album (which was banned by the BBC for such concepts as claiming that the Titanic was one of Winston Churchill's bogeys (British equivalent of 'booger'). Moore recently said that Cook was unhappy that Dudley's recent success had pretty well signalled the end of their partnership, as Moore was too busy making money and balling Susan Anton to perform with Cook - revolting as it seems, that seems to be show-biz). NOW, here's some questions: 1) (easy) Who did the music for Dudley Moore's piano playing in the film "10"? 2) (hard) Who were Cook and Moore's characters in "Those... Jaunty Jalopies"? 3) (????) For Alan Bennett fans, what does 'NORWICH' mean? 4) Who wrote The Bed-Sitting Room? Who directed it? 5) What now-famous playwright got his start taking a university production of his first play to the Fringe festival? What was the play? 6) For BTF fans, why didn't Peter Cook become a judge? 7) Why is life like a tin of sardines? 8) What is the Footlights Club? steve hull decvax!utzoo!utcsrgv!tugs P.S. This is one of my all-time favorite movies, BEDAZZLED. I believe it came out in 1968. Peter Cook played George Spiggot (AKA Beelzebub, Mephistopheles, etc.), and Dudley Moore played Stanley Moon. Raquel Welch played Lillian Lust. Incidentally, the music in the movie was composed by Dudley Moore.
