[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] VAR2FIX for VAX/VMS converts variable to fixed record length

Following is a small program to be put into SIMTEL20 directory
PD3:<MISC.VAXVMS>.

It solves the problems of all those European TRICKLE users on VAXes
dealing with RECEIVEing /BINARY files.

RECEIVE /BINARY usually creates a VMS file with variable record length
(most often max. 128 bytes, but once about 16000 bytes happened to me)
and carriage control set to carriage return.

My program converts such a file to 128 bytes fixed length records.
These files can both be downloaded to a PC and unARCed with
SEA ARC for VMS.

The program is provided in Pascal source form (VAR2FIX.PAS) and as
executable image (VAR2FIX.UUE) for VMS Version 4.7 and higher.

Documentation is in the upper part of the Pascal source.

Have fun!

Thanks, Norbert! VAR2FIX.MSG (the message above), VAR2FIX.PAS, and
VAX2FIX.UUE have been placed in directory PD3:<MISC.VAXVMS>. This
should be very useful to microcomputer users who are attempting to
transfer files from/to VAX/VMS hosts.
