[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] a chess program called OMEGA

I have a chess game here called OMEGA.  It does a very nice 3D rendition of
a chess board on a CGA monitor, and seems to play reasonable chess.

The program claims to be Rel. 2.0 written by some individual in 1988.  The
copywrite message in the code however, is to The Intelligent Chess Corporation,
1986, which looks somewhat suspicious.

Does anyone out there know if this is a genuine P.D. program, or is it a hacked
commercial game?

If the latter, can anyone recommend a real public domain / shareware version of
chess?
