I too don't think Keith needs to apologize for putting the reports of Simtel uploads here, whether the regular activity of the group is going on or not. My understanding of this newsgroup was that the .d group was for news of interest to the pc community. Even if Keith feels he wants to stop posting the upload news here when Rahul comes back (assuming he will eventually), people should be aware of the digests appearing on comp.sys.ibm.pc.digest, which also include the uploads to simtel20. I think the pd archives at simtel20 is a service embodying the highest ideals of the net.
