We're looking to install sixty or so PCs with a couple of Novell servers on an ethernet system that also has a number of Unix (Ultrix) & VMS machines running TCP/IP (and DECnet). Novell has recently announced a 386 version of netware with planned support for TCP/IP (come summer they say). However some of the local reps for a distribution house say that you can't boot off a Novell server and then switch over to using TCP/IP. Now obviously we would like to do just that. Does anyone know of a boot ROM that will enable a machine to boot using TCP/IP? We wouldn't mind placing the files on an NFS drive or something on the unix machines (Yes, I've looked at PC-NFS & TOPS, they don't mention it). The whole idea is to make it a floppyless environment. Every Unix workstation I've seen can do this so it doesn't seem too complicated. Even stories of vaporware would be good to hear (yeah, right) as we've got until summer (end of the school year) before this installation has to be done. Please Email and I'll compile if I get any sort of response. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Imagine the most incredible .sig around and paste here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
