Here's the info that I have on Robot Odyssey: I bought the package in March of 1986, shortly after it was released. That means that the article from Scientific American was published sometime in 1985, but I don't know what month, since I only have a Xerox of it, and Scientific American doesn't put month/year info at the bottom of the pages. However, it's the Computer Recreations column by A.K.Dewdney. So, if you go to the library and look through the 1985 issues, it shouldn't be to tough to find. The sub-title of the column begins "A ciruitous odyssey from Robotropolis to the electronic gates of Silicon Valley." The game was published by: The Learning Company 545 Middlefield Road Suite 170 Menlo Park, CA 94025 1-800-852-2255 in California: 1-800-852-2256 1-415-328-5410 Remember, this information is four years old, so the phone numbers and/or the address may be wrong, or the company may have even gone out of business, for all I know (which ain't much :-). While I will admit willingly that I missed the beginning of this discussion, and may miss the entire point, I'll jump into the fray willingly. Just the other day, I was looking through travel brouchures and saw this. I believe it was offered by THOMSON Charter vacations from toronto, & possibly a few U.S. Cities. One of the hotels that they offer, I believe in Barbados. Has the option of having the robot odyssey suite. They had most of a page description of the luxuries etc. I do remember that the cost was astronomical, like an extra $ 1000 per week. It may also have been sunquest charter from toronto (not thomson) and it may not have been barbados, but it was between the bahamas & barbados at least. There wasn't a lot of technical info, really sales & vacation sales glib, but it was rather interesting. Use your own robot to go to the bar & get a drink instead of calling room service. al

A more current address for The Learning Company (makers of Robot Odyssey) is The Learning Company 6493 Kaiser Drive Fremont, CA 94555 VOICE: (415)792-2101 FAX: (415)792-9628 I don't see Robot Odyssey listed in the MENU guide any more but I was able to get it direct from TLC last summer (1989). BTW: the game is a blast! I wish I had kept it rather than giving it away as a birthday present. Hope this helps! -Tim Larson trl3@psuvm.bitnet
