[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] Proposal for

tomd@tessi.UUCP (Tom Delaplain) (01/31/90)

Mark Lord proposes some guidelines for a symbolic link (ln) utility.

I am definately not qualified to write such a thing.

But one thing came to mind: why TSR? why not device driver?
Isn't that what a device driver does (intercept open/read/write/close
to a device - in this case the file system)?

I realize I'll probably be flamed for this, but so it goes, and provided
the comments aren't to caustic, I'll learn something in the bargin.

It was around earlier than that, certainly in 3.20 (just checked),
perhaps already in 3.0.

Does anyone know of a utility to put VGA cards into 132 column text
mode? I know that Paradise cards come with something, but I haven't
seen anything PD or shareware on Simtel. It shouldn't be too difficult
to do, and there are at least a few people on our campus that would find
it useful (most likely those with 20/10 vision). Any references or
contributions would be greatly appreciated.
