I can't disount the CCC being a 'toy', since I've yet to code anything more advanced than 4 or five classes, but I can say that while the small-model library, which is the only one for which there is debugging support, will only support a very small application, the package does include a large model library; my plan is to use the small-model for a test-bench and then promote the code to the large model as I go. This is not a C++ or even an Objective C, but more like a hybrid of SmallTalk and C. The Shareware package, which CCCorp tells me is no longer supported, has everything needed to start (except the C compiler of course), and really only suffers from not including their binding-optimizer or any sort of browser. I don't think this warrants removal (although I can't use SimTel anyway), but then again, for the full-blown commercial version, I can't see why anyone would spend $250+ on this when they can get C_Talk for just over $100. If there IS an alternative object-oriented C preprocessor in shareware, I would really like to get my hands on it! -- Gary Murphy uunet!mitel!sce!cognos!garym (garym%cognos.uucp@uunet.uu.net) (613) 738-1338 x5537 Cognos Inc.
