I'm attempting to use comp.binaries.ibm.pc for the first time, and I've hit a snag. I'm trying to use the "frac" game recently posted, and I followed these steps: 1. Appended each part (in correct order- I know about the repost) to the same text file. 2. Typed uudecode frac on this file. Uudecode made no complaints and produced a nice, big file titled frac.zoo. 3. Typed zoo -list frac, just to find out if it worked. Zoo reports: Directory entry in archive is invalid. ... In addition to some garbage followed by a ">>" sign a couple of lines above this. Obviously I'm doing something wrong. Can someone email (or post- there's been another recent inquiry) the basic steps for this? I have access to uudecode, zoo and arc within unix, so I don't need any specifics on doing this stuff at the PC end. Thanks! CRANBERRIES! ALBUQUERQUE! This is the start of the end of the beginning of the middle of the last day of the first part of your life! NEWSPRINT GALORE! Disclaimer: Datclaimer. Elvis is alive and doing my laundry. Turn down your air guitar, I can't see the band! I lied, he's dead. Have a #$&$( day.

Here is the official comp.binaries.ibm.pc "combine" script which will combine mutipart postings and then uudecode, ignoring headers and trailers as it goes. It relys on the key words BEGIN and END which appear in each posting. Notice these are all caps, not the usual begin and end associated with the uuencoded portion. #! /bin/sh cat $* | sed '/^END/,/^BEGIN/d' | uudecode Keith -- Keith Petersen Maintainer of SIMTEL20's CP/M, MSDOS, & MISC archives [IP address 26.2.0.74] Internet: w8sdz@WSMR-SIMTEL20.Army.Mil, w8sdz@brl.arpa BITNET: w8sdz@NDSUVM1 Uucp: {ames,decwrl,harvard,rutgers,ucbvax,uunet}!wsmr-simtel20.army.mil!w8sdz
