I don't know about 'useless'.  Under SCO XENIX, my customer is left with
some stupid message on the LED, I think it's "BOOT".  If I can write to
the LED panel just once, to erase that, I think it would be worthwhile.
If I had this source, I might be tempted to put a clock there, or 
something truely useless.
