Actually, the default for PC+ is ANSI, but you don't get any selection
until you make an entry in the dailing directory. Press Alt-D, then put
the selector bar over the phone number to revise (or on a blank line)
and press 'R'. As you go thru the entries for Name, Phone #, baud rate,
etc., you will eventually get to a list of terminal emulations. The
VT102 emulation is the one you want. It is identical to the VT100 (only
slightly better.) You get to choose the terminal emulation separately
for each different number you enter in the dialing directory. That's
all there is to it. If you have further questions on this, read the
manual! (If you don't have one, shame on you!)

There is another way. Select setup (alt s) then Terminal Options,
then General options, then (a) for terminal emulation. There you can
select the type of terminal and if you save the configuration, it is
your default.

Thanx! But no thanx. I have RTFM, isn't that what you mean? Sorry maybe
I wasn't more explicit in my posting but the problems is I set the dialed
host to use vt100 upon login (vt102 not available) I also set the emulation
to vt102 in procomm and still have problems using the editor 'vi'. The
vt102 emulation doesn't seem to go well with the vt100 emulation on the host
side. Thats why I wanted to know if there was a vt100 emulator for pc+ NOT
that I haven't read the manual or that vt102 emulation was unkown to me.
Please re-read my original posting you'll notice I did not ask how to set
a general terminal emulation in pc+ but that I inquired about a vt100
emulator for pc+. Which as you know isn't completely available to pc+ by
DEFAULT.

I have used pc+ vt100 emulation and found it works for the most
part. You should also turn line wrap off. I think it is an
emulation bug that when procomm receives the 80th character it
automatically places the cursor on the next line. The curses
package assumes this will not happen until the 81st character is
received. The result is that long lines get screwed up in your vi
display until you turn line wrap off. Without a more detailed
description of what exactly "doesn't seem to go well" I can't help
much more.

What problems are you having? I login using Procomm Plus and its vt102
emulation, and the only problem I've had in the past with vi is going in
and out of insert mode would wipe out the character the cursor was on.
However, I saw another posting on the subject; the key is to set the
backspace character to be non-destructive, and vt102 emulation should work
even though your TERM might be set to vt100, at least that's been my
experience.
