Hello net.land... I'm trying to set up a uucp connection to my machine (a Unix pc running Unix System V version 3.51.) The other side is an AT clone running fsuucp 1.01. My convention is that my uucp logins have different names from the actual machines. This causes a problem with fsuucp. It turns out that fsuucp sends the login name in the "shere" message, instead of the machine name. When fsuucp calls out, my uucp (HDB) thinks it's machine x, when I queue news or mail, it goes into /usr/spool/uucp/y. The obvious fix is to have fsuucp send the correct "shere" id. Does anyone know how to set up fsuucp so the host name is sent, as opposed to the login name? Can this be done? If not, has the problem been fixed? If not, is it going to be fixed? Any insight into how to deal with fsuucp will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Augustine Cano afc@shibaya.lonestar.org
