I am a pragmatist. I think any catastrophe of national proportions that befell the United States would be proof positive to all of Islam that America is, indeed, the great Satan. It would be proof that there is an Allah and that he is taking direct revenge on America. What an Islamic PR event that would be. I'm sorry for the individual families and citizens affected by such a terrible tragedy, but I don't think the American people can be expected to get all worked up in a humanitarian lather to help Iran in any capacity or under any circumstances.
