I finally got around to looking at the program 'patch' that appeared in binaries a while back. As I also wanted to be have this capability at the Unix end, I uploaded the source files supplied and went to work with them. After making a few minor machine dependent changes, I was able to get the original patch.c to compile. I then applied mypatch.dif which added on-line help and tried to compile. BIG mistake! mypatch.dif introduced so many typographical errors and undeclared functions that I could not resolve them all. As I no longer have the original header, I do not know how to contact the submitter. The only clue have is that mward made the last set of modifications. If mward reads would he or she please contact me and let me know what base files were used to create the diffs and whether or not these were verified before being posted. As it stands, the diffs that were posted are useless. Dave Beyerl att!ihlpl!db21
